manufacturing plant

Canal Sugar Company, located in West Minya, is Egypt's
largest Agri-Industrial, national food security investment
since 1952, with a total investment of 1 billion USD. Canal
Sugar Factory is the world’s largest sugar beet manufacturing
plant, established on an area of 240 feddans, utilizing the
industry’s latest innovations employed for the first time in the
manufacturing of sugar in the world, with a production
capacity of up to 750 thousand tons per year. The company
was established to ensure Egypt’s self-sufficiency in sugar
and contribute to developing Egypt’s strategic crops such as
wheat, corn, barley & alfa alfa . This is done through smart
agriculture to reclaim 181,000 feddans in the desert.
