Corporate Sustainable Development and HSE Director

Yasser said is the Corporate Sustainable Development and HSE Director in Canal Sugar since Dec. 2021. In this role Yasser leads and implements the company’s sustainability strategy policy with regards to safety, performance, quality, transparency, equality, and wellbeing. Embedded across all the company’ operations functions. He handles performance and environmental negotiations with regulatory bodies around the world, reporting on the company’s environmental and social performance, and engaging with non-governmental organizations and other outside stakeholders.

Yasser is responsible for overseeing Canal Sugar’s efforts to minimize its impact on the environment by addressing climate change through renewable energy and energy efficiency, using greener materials, and inventing new ways to conserve precious resources. He focused on reducing Canal Sugar’s carbon footprint, protecting air and water quality, preventing exposure to toxic contamination, and expanding outreach to communities on environmental issues.

He has over than 19 years of work experience in the HSE field gained from well- known organizations like; FLSmidth, and Titan group. Throughout his tenure, he held different roles including Group HSE Director, Company HSE Senior Manager, and most recently he was the Regional HSE Director – Eastern Mediterranean at Titan Cement Group.

Born in 1982. Yasser holds a Bachelor of Science, Ain Sham University, and an MBA from the Arab Academy.
