A well-known personality in the global sugar industry. He started his career in 1987 as an executive with Vadilal Enterprises-India. In 1993, he joined Godrej Group-India as Asst. Company Secretary and with his hard work and dedication, within three years, he rose to the position of Legal Manager and Company Secretary with Godrej Group.

In 1996, he joined Al Khaleej Sugar Co. LLC (AKS), world’s largest and most energy efficient standalone sugar refinery in the world established by Mr. Jamal Al Ghurair. During his tenure with AKS, Mr. Cyrus spent 16 years in different trading and management roles, before starting his own management consultant company in 2012.

Currently he is the chief advisor to Jamal Al Ghurair Group of Companies. In his management consultancy role, having extremely strong financial and commercial acumen coupled with formal legal education, Mr. Cyrus has been instrumental in the successful planning, negotiation and execution of contracts for procurement of 2,000,000 metric tons Raw Sugar per annum for AKS.

Mr. Cyrus also serves as Vice Chairman of the Management Council of the Sugar Association of London and as an Arbitrator for International Sugar Arbitration. His non-profit services include acting as a member of The World Sugar Committee of ICE Futures U.S. Inc. as well as a member of The White Sugar Committee of Intercontinental Exchange / ICE Futures Europe.  Apart from acting as a Director of Canal Sugar S.A.E., he is also on the Board of Directors of  TGB – Terminal Graneleiro da Babitonga S.A., Brazil.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law, Fellowship from Institute of Company Secretaries and Master’s Degree in Financial Management as well as Diplomas in Computer Management and Business Finance.
